If you’ve come to this article, chances are you are looking to
buy printing for some project either in Montreal, Toronto,
Ottawa, Canada or the Eastern United States. I can look up in
the yellow pages and get hundred of printing company’s names so
what’s your shpiel?

My shpiel, is simply to make you think about what it is you are
really looking for. Printing although thought of as a commodity
it is really very specific to each persons needs. If you wanted
a bottle of coke, you could buy it at Walmart, Shoppers Drug
Mart, your local grocery or convenience store or even get it at
a vending machine. The coke from all these places is
manufactured at the same place with the same ingrdients and
packaged the same. Your choice now comes down to either
location, convenience or price? Printing though is specific to
your needs. Your letterhead, business card, invoice, envelope,
label, all have your logo on it. Paper stock for each item is
countless. The type of printing, litho, offset, web, digital,
thermoengraved and genuine engraved all give a different look to
your product.

What kind of image are you striving for? Lowest cost? Highest
Impact? Direct segmented marketing? What do you need most?
Cheapest price, best service, guaranteed delivery time,
guaranteed product or distribution? Do you enjoy impersonal
dealing through the internet which gives you access 24 hours a
day or do you like the personal touch of dealing with a
representative who knows your business, your products and your
needs?

Now we get to Solutions Ink. In today’s age we can’t be
everything to everyone, or can we? The traditional printer had
presses that did one type of operation ( printing business cards
or enevelopes or forms or labels). If you gave them something
outside their domain they outsourced it to another printer who
had the appropriate presses. Solutions Ink takes the outsourcing
to the max. We outsource all our printing. For each type of job
we have 5 to 6 printers with those appropriate presses. With our
sales volumes we are able to sell for less than most direct
printers and still get the best quality and service. If your
direct printer has 5 rush jobs to do but only 1 press, four of
his customers will be disappointed. With our bank of printers we
are sure to be able to do your job and meet your deadlines. We
at Solutions Ink have invested in e-commerce ordering systems
for both printing and promotional products. With in house
programmers we can have a live site ready in days.

For these reasons we have continued to double our sales over the
last 3 years every year. Customers that have found our
advantages include Canon, McGill University, Tommy Hilfiger, Liz
Claiborne, Mexx, Browns, Hema Quebec, Bosch, Thermador, Sub
Zero, Wolfe, Solectron, L’Oreal as well as host of others. Due
to technology the world is such a small place, that is why we
have customers from all over Canada and the United States. If
you want to try the new way to buy printing and promotional
products give us a call at 514-337-2238 or visit us on the web
at www.solutionsink4u.com. Even if you don’t I hope you try to
find a provider who can offer you all the things you need and
make you happy. Buying should’t be the stressful part of your
business!

A land of vast lengths and rich natural resources, Canada turned a self-governing dominion in 1867 whilst holding ties to the British crown. Economically & technologically the country has developed in parallel sustaining the US, its neighbor to the south diameter an unfortified edge.

Canada is the world’s second-biggest country by total region, occupying most of northern North America. Extending given by the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean & northward into the Arctic Ocean, Canada shares land borders by having the United States to the south & to the northwest.

Inhabited first by Aboriginal peoples, Canada was founded as a union of British settlements, occasionally of which one had been French settlements. Canada gained independence derived from the United Kingdom in an incremental process that began in 1867 and ended in 1982.

Canada is a federal constituent monarchy and parliamentary democracy, consisting of ten provinces & 3 territories, & defines itself as a bilingual and multicultural nation; both English and French are official languages. A technologically progressed & industrialized state, its diversified economy relies heavy on an abundance of natural resources and on trade, especially with the United States, by owning which Canada has had a long & mix relationship.

Canadian culture has historically been to a great extent influenced by English, French, Irish, Scottish & Aboriginal cultures and traditions, & over time has been greatly shaped by American civilization due to its propinquity and the interchange of human capital between the two countries. Many forms of American media and entertainment are popular, if not dominant in Canada conversely, Numbers of Canadian cultural products and entertainers are successful in the US and worldwide. Numbers of cultural products are now commercialised toward a unified “North American” market, or a global market generally.

The creation & preservation of distinctly Canadian culture has been partly determined by federal government programs, laws & institutions such as the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), the National Film Board of Canada (NFB), and the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission

As Canada is a geographically vast & ethnically various country, there are cultural variations and differentiations derived from territory to territory and region to area. Canadian civilization has also been greatly acted upon by more recent immigration of people caused by all across the world. Numbers of Canadians value multiculturalism, so a select few see Canadian civilization as being inherently multicultural. Multicultural inheritance is shrined in Section 27 of the Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms.

National symbolisations are acted upon by natural, historical, and First Nations seeds. especially, the use of the maple leaf, as a Canadian symbol, dates backwards to the early 18th century & is depicted on its current & previous flags, the penny, and on the coat of arms. Other prominent symbols admit the beaver, Canada goose, common loon, the Crown, and the RCMP.

Canada’s official national sports are ice hockey (winter) & lacrosse (summer). Hockey is a national pastime, and is by far the virtually all popular spectator sport in the country. It is also the virtually popular sport Canadians play, with 1.65 million active participants in 2004.Canada’s six biggest metropolitan areas – Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Ottawa, Calgary, and Edmonton – have franchises in the national Hockey League (NHL), and there are additional Canadian players in the league than from all More countries compounded.

Additional popular Canadian spectator sports let in curling & Canadian football game (especially the Canadian football game League). Golf, baseball, skiing, soccer, volleyball, & basketball are wide played at youth and amateurish levels, but professional leagues and dealerships are not as widespread. Canada will server the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup, & the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia.

By David Leonhardt and Corey Rozon

The environment is in the media daily, from the Kyoto Protocol, Global Warming to the icecaps melting. If things don’t change soon, the future looks bleak, if you listen to the experts.

What no one seems to be discussing is the advancements in the construction and industrial sectors, namely the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system.

“LEED certification will provide challenges to the industry including the need to ensure an understanding of a new generation of materials properties and developing the practices and processes needed to ensure specifications and finished products meet the standards of green building. I am especially exited to be part of this process and in making a contribution towards shaping new building technologies.” Ken Moscrip, President of Paramount Roll and Forming – one of Southern California’s most prominent metal rolling companies.

Consisting of a clear set of environmental performance criteria organized into six categories, the Canadian version of LEED, which is very similar to the USGBC version, is listed below:

Sustainable Sites

Water Efficiency

Energy and Atmosphere

Materials & Resources

Indoor Environmental Quality

Innovation in Design

“Building Green is not a new thing it is the right thing, and we always strive to use the most environmentally neutral building practices and materials. However, construction debris is always an issue, by ordering what we need and using it when we need it, it has helped us to divert as much as possible from the local landfill. There are tradeoffs which we all must take, however protection of our future and wise stewardship of our planet must be one of our utmost priorities.” Justin Linden, President of ServiceBlocks Inc – a home renovations company in Ottawa, Canada.

Benefits of Building Green

Sustainable buildings considerably lower operating and maintenance costs, and these financial benefits are realized over the life of the building:

Reduced energy costs

Reduced water usage

Reduction in resource consumption

Reduction in greenhouse gas emissions

For the construction industry, building green will continue to grow in importance, whether it is because of consumer demand, regulatory requirements, or the cost of energy.

“The LEED process guides designers and builders to make technically superior decisions in a manner that is environmentally responsible. By embracing this process, they are showing commitment to their clients, their profession and the world community at large. It allows them to provide the best design solution for both the owner and the environment.” Vipul Acharya, Durisol Building Systems Inc., a leader in ICF green building materials.

For further information on LEED certification contact:

In Canada – Canada Green Building Council www.cagbc.org

In United States – U.S. Green Building Council www.usgbc.org

The best way to demonstrate that a building is “green” is by achieving LEED certification.

Given the new emphasis placed on environmental issues, sustainable design is becoming increasingly important. LEED is at the forefront of the environmental industry, and can also be used as an excellent marketing tool. LEED can easily be incorporated into the environmental design of buildings themselves, from residential and commercial industry right down to industrial practices.

News Flash: Ottawa – The Bank of Canada said the country’s recovery from recession is becoming more entrenched, but Canadians shouldn’t expect the economy to return to normal for some time.

We keep hearing the same thing over and over again and again. The economy is getting better, but we won’t see positive results for a long time. Ottawa brings you up, just to let you down again.

I am still hearing of job losses and seeing foreclosures on homes. The economy doesn’t seem to be getting any better to me. How about you?

This is not just in Canada. What about the USA, Europe, Mexico, Australia, Africa, Asia, India, United Kingdom, just to mention a few? This is a global economy mess.

You cannot depend on anyone or anything or your government to ensure that you are financially stable. It’s up to YOU to prepare yourself for today and tomorrow.

Knowledge is extremely important. Ignorance is a hinder. Learn everything that you can about becoming financially independent. Soak up all that you can like a thirsty sponge.

Show the world that today’s economy is not affecting you! There is no recession happening on the internet. That’s why Internet Marketing is on the rise and will never slow down.

There are billions of people on the internet today. Why not leverage this to improve your future?

Draw a line in the sand. One side has people struggling, loosing jobs and homes, believing that the government will bail them out. The other side has successful entrepreneurs thriving in their own internet marketing business with a bright future in front of them.

Which side are you on? What are you’re beliefs?

Being the second largest country in the world, Canada has something for everyone!
Not surprisingly, there are many different types of holidays on offer in this amazing, vast country, too.
Whether it’s an activity holiday, a city break, a wildlife expedition or a family vacation, you will find it all here in Canada!
What’s more, it’s perfect for a holiday property rental, as there is an excellent range of self catering accommodation in this country.
Canada is brimming with interesting and exciting destinations to discover and boasts a huge range of diverse natural landscapes, such as mountains, prairies, lakes and rainforests.
Canada has 10 provinces, including Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Québec and Saskatchewan. It also has 3 territories, including Yukon Territory, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
There are also many cities and destinations which are popular with tourists, such as Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Niagara Falls, Toronto, Ottawa, Montréal and Halifax, many of which you will no doubt want to visit during your travels.
The capital of Canada is Ottawa and it is a great city to explore. This beautiful city has a wealth of attractions, museums, sports facilities, shops, restaurants and more! Some of the museums include the National Gallery of Canada, Canada Agriculture Museum, Canada Aviation Museum, Canada Science and Technology Museum, Royal Canadian Mint, Currency Museum of the Bank of Canada, Canadian Museum of Nature, Canadian War Museum and there’s more!
There are also plenty of places in Ottawa to take the kids and keep them happy during your holiday. For example, there’s Pirate Adventures, Midway Family Fun Park, Laser Quest, Saunders Farm and Valleyview Little Animal Farm.
Another city you should visit during your trip to Canada is Vancouver. During your visit, try to see Stanley Park (an amazing 1,000 acre park), Capilano Suspension Bridge (dare you climb across it!), Grouse Mountain, Vancouver Aquarium (which is located in Stanley Park), Robson Street (the famous shopping street) and Chinatown, just to name a few.
Toronto, meanwhile, has lots to offer its visitors, with many tourist attractions and activities to suit all ages and tastes. Toronto Zoo, the CN Tower and Ontario Science Centre are just three of the must-sees here.
Montréal, the largest city in Québec and the second largest city in Canada, is also worth a visit during your travels in this beautiful country. Some of the popular visitor attractions include Parc La Fontaine (a lovely park in the city), The Pointe-à-Callière Museum, Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (The Museum of Contemporary Art, Jardin Botanique (Botanical Gardens), Musée des Beaux Arts de Montréal and more!
If you’re looking for adventure and want to get out in the great outdoors during your holiday in Canada, head to the Rocky Mountains. Here you will discover some amazing scenery, fantastic wildlife and a wealth of activities on offer, such as backpacking, mountain biking, fishing, golf and, of course, skiing.
If you get the chance, you should also visit Niagara Falls during your Canadian vacation. You will then get the opportunity to see the famous waterfalls and also enjoy the city itself. There are various exciting ways that you are able to view the Falls. You can admire them from a boat (Maid of the Mist), go below and behind the spectacular Falls (Journey Behind the Falls), stroll alongside the amazing waters (White Water Walk), take a ride in an aerial cable car above the fantastic Niagara Whirlpool (Whirlpool Aero Car) or you can take an exciting helicopter ride and see the Niagara Falls from the air!
There are so many more places to discover in Canada. It is a great destination for everyone and has so much to offer its visitors. Whether you want go on a sightseeing trip, a relaxing break or an adventure holiday, Canada is a great location for an enjoyable self catering vacation.

Make no mistake, moving into a new apartment can be tough – there’s a new part of the city to get used to (or a whole new city entirely!), new roads and bus routes to learn, figuring out where all of the different stores are … It’s hard enough to do when you’re by yourself, but when you bring kids into the equation, moving can become an even greater challenge.

Changing schools, leaving behind friends and classmates, giving up familiar routines, and living in a brand new environment can be very difficult for many children. Before moving with kids into your new Ottawa apartment, we’ve put together a quick moving checklist to help make your move into a new apartment as smooth as possible – both for you and your children.

Before the Move:

Tell your children about the move as soon as you can. The more time they have to get used to the idea of moving, the easier it will be for them when the big day finally arrives.

Involve your kids as early as possible. If you give them specific tasks to do early on in the moving process, you can help your children have a sense of control over this potentially scary situation. As an example, you could let them participate in the apartment-hunting process by getting their opinions on the pros and cons (from their viewpoint) of the different apartments / neighbourhoods that you look at.

Take a tour of the new neighbourhood. Before you move in, take your children to your new apartment and explore the new neighborhood together. Let them see the nearby parks, schools, stores, etc., as knowing about these places ahead of time will help ease their fears of the unknown (and possibly even make them look forward to visiting these cool new places on a regular basis once you’re all moved in!).

Put together a friends list. When moving with young children, leaving behind their old school and friends is perhaps the hardest part of the entire process. To help ease the transition, help your children prepare a list of phone numbers and email addresses of all of their close friends and relatives. Knowing that they can stay in touch with the important people in their lives, even when they’re in the new apartment, is a very important part of a successful move.

During the Move:

Involve your kids in the packing. Packing can be a tedious process at the best of times. To make the whole exercise a little more fun for everybody, you can have your kids decorate the boxes containing their things. As an added bonus, doing so will also make finding their things easier once you’re at the new apartment!

Don’t pack up everything. It’s important that you don’t pack away everything before the big move. Special items such as blankets, stuffed animals, books, etc., should be placed in a separate container that can be taken in the car with the kids. This way, the kids get peace of mind knowing that their favourite things won’t get lost or left behind.

Stay positive. When moving with children, it’s very important to stay as upbeat and calm as you can, as your own mood will greatly impact the mood of your children – if you hate moving, chances are they will, too.

After the Move:

Don’t spend all of your time unpacking. Yes, you’ll need to get all of those essential items out of the boxes as soon as possible, but try to spread the unpacking process out over a few days, if possible. For most kids, unpacking is boring – they want to explore! It’s important to put down the boxes and take the time to really explore your new neighbourhood and spend time with your family. Go for a walk, check out the nearby stores and restaurants, relax at the park … how you spend this time is up to you.

Ask for your child’s input. Give your children a chance to pitch in some ideas when you’re settling in to your new apartment. Openly ask for their ideas, especially when choosing items for their rooms or deciding on the layout of the apartment. If they feel that they’ve helped “create” the new apartment, your kids will be more inclined to think of it as their new home instead of a scary, unknown place.

Try to maintain daily routines. While children are adjusting to new homes, neighborhoods, and schools, parents can provide some comfort by keeping some things the same. For instance, having the same morning and bedtime routines, meal times, etc. might be extremely comforting, especially for younger children.

Above all, listen. Regularly ask how things are going for them at the new apartment. Some kids have a hard time opening up – spending some relaxed time together may help them to bring up whatever is on their minds.

Remember, it takes time to make a new apartment feel like a home … but with your understanding and patience, you should be able to make the transition fairly easily. After all, as the old saying goes, home is where the heart is.
